Our Christmas Concert 2024 took place on Monday 9th December, and we were all delighted to perform to a packed house. The main piece sung by the choir was Alan Bullard’s piece, ‘A Light in the Stable’ which includes new songs as well as arrangements of very familiar Christmas carols, with enthusiastic audience participation in some of the music.
The full programme was:
- Choir and audience – ‘A Great and Mighty Wonder’
- Choir and audience – ‘O Little One Sweet’
- Choir and audience – ‘Silent Night’
- Choir and audience – ‘Good King Wenceslas’
- Soprano and piano – ‘Mariä Wiegenlied’ by Roger
- Soprano and piano – ‘The Little Road’ by Head
- Choir, organ, soloist and audience – ‘A Light in the Stable’ by Alan Bullard
We are very grateful to our soloist for the evening, Sarah Power, and also to accompanist Morley Whitehead and of course to our Musical Director Tim Coleman. We would also like to thank Merchiston Castle School for their continuing support for the choir not only for this evening’s concert, but throughout the year for use of the Memorial Hall and the School’s Music Library.
